An iPhone or iPad makes a great second screen for IPTV — the kitchen, the commute, the garden. Everything installs from the App Store, so this is the gentlest setup of any device.
Step 1: Install a player
- Open the App Store.
- Search for a player. Reliable options on iOS include IPTV Smarters Lite (aka Smarters Player Lite) and IBO Player Pro.
- Install and open it.
These are third-party apps by independent developers; your Nexlivo login works in any of them. If one disappears from the store — it happens — search for the other.
Step 2: Sign in
- Choose the Xtream Codes API login option (IBO Player Pro instead shows a MAC address and manages playlists via the developer's website — see that guide for its flow).
- Enter the username, password and server URL from your welcome message. Copy-and-paste from the email avoids TV-keyboard-style typos — just watch for a stray trailing space when pasting.
- Confirm, and let the channel list download.
Step 3: Watch — and a few iOS-specific tips
- Mobile data: live streams use roughly 1–3 GB per hour depending on quality. On a capped plan, set the app's quality lower away from Wi-Fi.
- AirPlay: most players support AirPlay to an Apple TV or AirPlay-compatible TV — a quick way to get the big screen without setting up the TV itself. For daily big-screen use, a proper TV setup is smoother.
- Picture-in-picture: supported by several players on recent iOS versions — check the app's settings.
- Background audio: handy for sport commentary while you do something else.
If something is not working
- App rejects the login — recheck each field for autocorrect "corrections"; iOS loves capitalising usernames. More in fixing login problems.
- Streams fine on Wi-Fi, stutters on 4G/5G — mobile networks vary by location; lower the quality setting in the app for cellular use.
- Channel list out of date — pull-to-refresh or re-add the playlist: refreshing an IPTV playlist.
